‘Very heavy’ traffic expected at land checkpoints during Chinese New Year period: ICA

SINGAPORE – If you are heading to Malaysia via the land checkpoints during the upcoming Chinese New Year period, be prepared for longer waits to clear the immigration counters.

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) on Jan 20 said it expects very heavy traffic at both the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints from Jan 24 to Feb 2. The first day of Chinese New Year falls on Jan 29.

The authority said that more than 24 million travellers crossed both checkpoints during the recent school holiday period, between Nov 15, 2024, and Jan 1. It was about a 20 per cent increase from the same period in the previous year.

旧正月の祝日は、29日と30日の2日間となってますが、休む人は今週末の土日から1週間丸々という人も多いと思います。

既にJBでも、超フライングで花火が上がったりしてますがね。

シンガポールからは、1月24日から2月2日まで、大量の旅行者が押し寄せてくると。

「イミグレを通過するのに3時間かかるかもと見ておいた方がよい」らしいです。

私もこの期間にシンガポールに行く用事があるので、気を付けねば。

JBからシンガポールはそんなに混まないよね？と思うんですが、シンガポールから来た人はまた帰らなければならないわけで、その混むタイミングがいつになるのか、よくわかりませんな。

早め早めの余裕を持った行動が吉となるでしょう。
